Shaped card

Hello everyone I do hope your week is going well. When I started making albums I followed tutorials by Paul Ford & recently he has been doing tutorials for different shaped cards as well.  As his instructions are always so clear & easy to follow I decided to try a couple of the cards.  Clicking on his name above will take you to his You Tube channel & all his tutorials. Here is his Double Z-fold card that I have made; I used Serif Craft Artist 2 software to create my background papers & topper with sentiment. The background paper was fairly plain so I produced a second copy to which I added small versions of the flower image, including individual small flowers. Final embellishments were a few small gems at the corners. Some people place the z-fold centrally on the folded card, I decided to have mine in line with the bottom edge of the card, I quite like it that way. Thank you for stopping by please let me know you have visited by leaving a comment.

A few days ago a colleague showed a group of us a rather sweet little card with a different shape. It's a double diamond card (not a beer in sight! - te he) The layers are white card that I have coloured with Distress Ink & drew a border with a black pen to make it look like 2 layers.  A Barbara Grey corner stamp used to decorate. A little card shape I will definitely return to from time to time. I hope you have enjoyed your visit today.  Please leave a comment so that I know I have had a visitor & make sure you put your name on the end so that I know who it was.

Wedding card

Today I have a card to show you, that I made about a few days ago for a wedding. The brides chosen theme was for a fairly rustic style so I chose Kraft card for the base card. The front I decorated with a doily & some cream paper roses, & tinted both with a pink Distress Ink. A die cut "Wedding Day" banner laid over pale pink card - which was the  colour of some of the flowers.

A new interest

I hope everyone is enjoying a good weekend with lots of crafting & fun. Some years ago I discovered a craft called Zentangle & really enjoyed playing with the different designs & shapes.  Then a couple of months ago I stumbled on a lady who does Zentangle with her own twist - its called Sanntangle - derived from her name - Sandra & zentangle. I discovered her quite by accident when taking a peek at what was happening on Create & Craft these days, as I mainly watch Hochanda ( The Craft Store ), & there she was. I loved what I saw & during the course of her demo she mentioned a Facebook group so off I went to have a look. During the Covid lockdown she started holding "live" sessions a couple of times a week creating lovely tiles.  She is currently up to #150.  So I have a lot of catching up to do. Here is a reminder of what I would call a traditional Zentangle, although the design is one that Sandra created. I drew this after watching her video for i

Spoilt? Me?

Yes! I was spoilt yesterday receiving lots of cards & flowers & messages on Facebook. This lovely basket of flowers above was from a group of colleagues which they gave to me a little earlier so I have been looking at them for a couple of weeks. This beautiful bouquet from family This one was from friends and then, there are these ............. from my lovely husband, and yes there are 80. My lounge is like a florist shop - its lovely. We have displayed the cards all around the picture rail in the lounge in the same way we do our Christmas cards.  When it is time to take them down I will photograph them & then will most probably show them here as many of them are hand-made cards from friends & the ladies from the 3 clubs I used to organise. The day was rounded off with a rare (these current times) meal out.  We went to the Cherry Pie Inn & very nice it was too.

Hello everyone. After creating the blog I decided to have a session making some simple cards for a friends scouts fund-raising efforts.  I thought it would be a good idea if I showed them here in the first proper post. I made a set of 4 with these vintage car images Here is one on its own for a clearer view. They are 4" x 4" cards & I have sponged 2 ink colours through a circular aperture template then stamped the car image in black archival ink. To finish it I drew round the inside of the circular aperture to give it a frame.   I mainly put a "best wishes" sentiment on the front of these cards as that seems best for covering all occasions when they are not for my own use.  They are quite cute aren't they?  Well! there you have it - my very first proper post in my new blog.  I hope you enjoyed your visit, please come for another visit & feel free to leave a comment it would be much appreciated.

The day has arrived.
